Internal efforts to improve, however, were bogged down by cumbersome manual tracking methods that took days to produce results. “If I wanted to see anything that was going on this month, I had to wait until several weeks into the next month,” says the operations manager. “How do you move on that? Access Group’s solution was to enable the company to retrieve real-time data by implementing Infor ERP Syteline Business Intelligence along with a system of touch-screen enabled data collection stations and bar-coded work orders. “Now I can tell how much time is on every job in my shop floor just through a few clicks of a button,” he says. “On any given day, I can tell what my sales are for the month and my profitability on those parts. I can produce the same information for yesterday, last week, three years ago, or however I want to see it.”
